French-born Christophe Delcourt graduated from Paris’ Cours Florent in 1988 and studied at the Theatre Ecole du Passage in 1989. Committed to designing furniture and objects, Delcourt opened his first studio in the Marais area of Paris in 1998.
Delcourt is an acrobat in the truest sense: his designs are a testimony to the subtle way in which he combines elegant lines and raw materials, never sacrificing excellence in their presentation. Aiming to create noble pieces that pay homage to the experts that he holds in high esteem, he remains loyal to the approach of craft men that he has collaborated with since the beginning of his career. There is no trace of ostentation or passing trends in the language of Christophe Delcourt. His designs reveal themselves gradually.
Over the past decade, Delcourt’s firm has produced some of the most coveted and influential furniture of his time. His interior design practice is equally prolific and has included restaurants, hotels and boutiques. His designs for the AVENUE ROAD editions include a solid wood furniture collection, sofas and lighting.
